The U.S. Senate Finance Committee voted to approve the nomination of Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary

Internet reports that on January 21 local time, the U.S. Senate Finance Committee approved the nomination of Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary of the Trump administration with a vote of 16 in favor and 11 against, and submitted the nomination to the Senate for final confirmation vote. If approved, Besent will become one of the important spokespersons of the new U.S. government in economic policy, and will have great influence on fiscal policy, financial supervision, international sanctions and overseas investment.
