The US government considers imposing sanctions on China AI company DeepSeek

According to Internet reports, Decrypt reported that the Trump administration in the United States is considering imposing restrictions on China artificial intelligence company DeepSeek, which may cut off its access to American technology and prohibit Americans from using its services. The move stems from DeepSeek's DeepSeek-V3 model released in January this year, which cost only about $6 million to achieve performance comparable to U.S. competitors, raising national security concerns. The U.S. Congressional Select Committee on China accused DeepSeek of secretly leaking U.S. user data and may have used approximately 60,000 Nvidia chips (including 20,000 export-controlled chips) to train its models.
