Foreign media: Information transactions by participants in the encryption industry have been exposed, raising concerns about phishing attacks

On December 23, it was reported that in the name of "marketing, promotion and customer finding", the list of sensitive information of participants in cryptocurrency industry activities was illegally sold, becoming a treasure house of data that scammers and malicious actors covet. These lists detail participants 'full names, phone numbers, nationalities, positions, companies, and personal and business social media links, which is often collected during the event registration process at the conference or branch venue. Cointelegraph obtained a "sample" of the list from a seller via Telegram, including four lists from different events, each with approximately 60 to 100 participants and containing different data points. Most of the events take place in the autumn of 2024, with participants from many countries such as Southeast Asia and India. This suggests the existence of organized international blockchain activity participant data transactions. These lists are just the tip of the iceberg, and sellers have also shared other sample images associated with Blockchain Fest and Devcon.
