U.S. media tycoon counterclaims Justin Sun in $78 million sculpture dispute
David Geffen, an American filmmaker, record executive and art collector, has filed a counterclaim against Justin Sun, questioning his claim to a multimillion-dollar sculpture, Internet reported. On April 16, the U.S. billionaire media giant filed a counterclaim against Justin Sun, calling the lawsuit filed by Tron founder Justin Sun a "scam" and accusing it of "unethical and/or illegal business practices." Sun Yuchen sued Geffen in February, claiming that the statue was stolen by a former employee, who later sold the art to Geffen for approximately $65 million, including art and cash. Sun Yuchen purchased Alberto Giacometti's sculpture "Le Nez" at Sotheby's in 2021 for US$78 million, with the assistance of former art consultant Xiong Zihan Sydney.
