US SEC no longer resumes litigation against Hex founders

According to online reports, Cointelegraph reported that the U.S. SEC has confirmed that it will not re-prosecute Hex founder Richard Heart (real name Richard Schueler) for previously accusing him of illegally distributing three crypto assets: HEX, PulseChain and PulseX. The court had earlier dismissed the SEC lawsuit, holding that it failed to prove that Heart targeted U.S. investors. The SEC subsequently waived filing an amended indictment before the deadline. Heart posted a post claiming he won the case across the board, calling it a victory for encryption, open source software and freedom of speech. He pointed out that the SEC's lawsuit even targeted "the software code itself." The SEC has accused Heart of illegally raising more than $1 billion and issued an international arrest warrant for him in Finland. Currently, HEX prices have fallen 76% since their December 2024 high. Since the beginning of this year, the SEC has withdrawn a number of cryptography-related cases.
