Internet reports that Trump nominated Troy Meck, chief of staff of the Air Force and now a senior official at the National Spy Satellite Agency, to arrange a multi-billion-dollar satellite tender in favor of Musk's SpaceX. According to sources, the change in confidential contract requirements led the National Reconnaissance Office's inspector general to begin an investigation into whether officer Troy Mack improperly directed the deal to SpaceX. Musk's space program ultimately won the contract in 2021. It is unclear whether the inspector general has completed the report or whether the investigation is still underway.
