Coinbase criticized Oregon's crypto regulatory actions
Online reports that the Oregon Attorney General today filed a securities enforcement lawsuit against cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, using regulatory theories that the SEC has formally abandoned. Paul Grewal, Coinbase's chief legal officer, issued a statement saying the move was "unfounded" and "undermines the constructive policy development being undertaken in Washington, D.C." As Congress is pushing for comprehensive federal legislation on digital assets, Coinbase has pledged to maintain normal operations in Oregon and said it is "ready to respond to this lawsuit" and vowed to "never stop standing up for customers and industry."
