North Korean hackers used mixed-currency funds to purchase 437.6 billion PEPEs on March 11, worth US$3.1 million
According to online reports, online detective ZachXBT posted a post on his personal channel that a highly credible Tornado Cash asset theft investigation showed that on March 11, 2025, after using Tornado Cash to complete the currency mix, North Korean hackers used part of ETH funds to purchase 437.6 billion PEEs, worth US$3.1 million. A more detailed analysis revealed that North Korean hackers used the problematic Tornado Cash user interface to experience asset theft. According to previous news, according to Lookonchain monitoring, three wallets bought 689.79B PEPEs (with a total value of approximately US$4.3 million) in large amounts, and all of their funds came from Tornado Cash.
