On September 29, BYD filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation and decided to recall the following vehicles from September 30, 2024。Recall a total of 87,762 domestic Dolphin and Yuan PLUS electric vehicles produced between February 4, 2023 and December 26, 2023; recall a total of 8,952 domestic Yuan PLUS electric vehicles produced between November 2, 2022 and June 19, 2023。Some vehicles within the scope of this recall are due to the electric power steering column assembly (CEPS) controller manufacturing process. When the upper cover of the equipment tooling is closed, it interferes with the capacitor on the controller circuit board, causing micro-cracks in the capacitor。In the use of vehicles, capacitor microcracks may expand and cause short circuits, causing overheating and ablation of capacitors, or even fire, posing safety risks。BYD will entrust authorized dealers to install free controller insulation gaskets for vehicles within the scope of the recall, which will eliminate potential safety hazards.。
