BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) gets new batch of electric bus orders, continues to expand its footprint in the field of electric commercial vehicles。

According to a press release issued yesterday by the Chinese manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEV), BYD recently won the Azerbaijani government's electric bus procurement plan, obtaining 160 12-meter K9UD electric bus orders.。

BYD plans to ship these electric buses in bulk to Azerbaijan starting this month, with some of the vehicles to be put into use during the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) to be held in Azerbaijan's capital Baku in November.。

In addition, the Azerbaijani government will purchase 200 electric buses from BYD every year between 2025 and 2028 and assemble them locally.。

BYD K9UD electric bus is 12,200 mm long, 2,550 mm wide, 3,300 mm high and weighs 19.5 tons。

The bus is equipped with a 422kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a maximum cruising range of 450 kilometers。It is equipped with two 150 kW electric motors。

BYD said it proposed a solution for electrifying urban buses in 2010 and has now delivered more than 80,000 electric buses worldwide.。
