Reuters: Trump hints that U.S. -China tariff hikes may end
Internet reports, Reuters reported that U.S. President Trump said on Thursday that the mutual tariff levy between the United States and China may be coming to an end, and hinted that an agreement on the fate of TikTok may have to wait. "I don't want tariffs to continue to rise because at a certain point people stop buying," he told reporters at the White House. Trump said that China has been in contact with the United States since the tariffs were imposed and was optimistic that an agreement would be reached. Although the two sides are still in contact, sources said free, high-level exchanges that could broker an agreement have largely not taken place.
