Analysis: Bitcoin price stability faces potential risk of "basis trading collapse"
Internet reports that Bitcoin has recently remained stable amid the turmoil in U.S. stocks triggered by tariffs, making market participants excited about the potential of this cryptocurrency as a safe-haven asset. However, the possibility of a sharp downturn in the short term is not ruled out, especially the "U.S. Bond market basis trading" is at risk due to increased bond price turmoil. Analysts believe that the potential outbreak of US$1 trillion in basic trading in U.S. Treasury bonds may trigger a global cash rush, which may lead to the sell-off of all assets, including Bitcoin. It is reported that a similar situation occurred in mid-March 2020, when the basic trading volume reached US$500 billion.
