Vietnam's new bill proposes to allow cryptocurrency transactions in financial centers starting July 1, 2026
Internet reports that according to a report by VNEconomy last month, Vietnam's Ministry of Planning and Investment is soliciting opinions on a draft resolution by the National Assembly on building a regional and international financial center in the country. The draft proposes that starting from July 1, 2026, crypto-asset and crypto-currency transactions within financial centers will be officially implemented. According to the draft, the regional financial center will be located in Da Nang and the international financial center will be located in Ho Chi Minh City. Article 12 of the draft deals with monetary policy, banking and foreign exchange management policies of financial centers. According to the draft, commercial banks will begin to implement the digital banking model from January 1, 2026.
