Foreign media: Pentagon Defense Digital Services Team Resigns Collective
Online reports, Politico reported that employees of the Department of Defense's digital services department resigned collectively under pressure from the Ministry of Government Efficiency. Three employees told Politico that their resignations will close the decade-old project at the end of the month. It is reported that the agency was established in 2015 to help the Department of Defense adopt technology solutions during national security crises, with the goal of achieving Silicon Valley-style innovation within the Pentagon. Reported that the Defense Digital Services helped establish rapid response tools to assist the military during the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, military assistance to Ukraine, humanitarian aid and drone detection. Jennifer Hay, head of the 14-member team, plans to leave before May 1, while 11 other employees will accept President Trump's deferred resignation. Politico reported that two other employees will also leave. A Pentagon spokesman told Politico that the office's functions will be absorbed by the chief digital and artificial intelligence office.
