eToro partners with Moneyfarm to launch ISA
Multi-asset trading platform eToro has partnered with online wealth manager Moneyfarm to enter the UK ISA market。eToro's UK customers can now open shares and share ISAs with Moneyfarm via the eToro platform。
Unlike many other ISA products, eToro and Moneyfarm products are self-managed ISAs, meaning you deposit funds into your ISA account, but Moneyfarm's experts will distribute and manage investments on your behalf.。
What is ISA??
The ISA (Personal Savings Account) is a tax-free savings vehicle and under current legislation UK customers can invest up to £20,000 a year.。Any capital growth or income generated within the ISA portfolio is exempt from capital gains or income tax。
Moneyfarm offers a range of globally diversified discretionary portfolios, each of which is risk-rated, which the wealth manager says means matching clients with the right investments。
Dan Moczulski, managing director of eToro UK, told us exclusively: Despite being a global business, we want to take a local approach to the markets in which we operate, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach。In the UK, that is, providing financial products to help our UK customers get a more complete investment experience。The Stocks and Equities ISA will help eToro customers protect some of their investment returns in a tax-free package, which is more important than ever given upcoming capital gains tax (CGT) changes.。We plan to continue developing the product in the coming months。
Why launch ISA products?
This is the first project that the two companies hope to establish a closer partnership.。eToro will look to expand its ISA offering, most likely with Moneyfarm。
Daniel Giddings, head of business development at Moneyfarm UK, said the two companies would: "Tightly integrate (ISA) claims over time."。
eToro, which has more than 3 million registered users in the UK, is hoping to entice them to open ISA accounts through a new venture.。The company has not disclosed the charges for its new service.。However, Moneyfarm charges a variable fee based on the amount invested.。
For example, those holding between £500 and £10,000 in stock and stock ISAs, pay 0 per year.75%。And those with assets between £10,000 and £20,000 pay 0 per year..65%, fees may be further reduced if portfolio value grows。
eToro and Moneyfarm adopt a novel ISA investment approach that will set them apart from the competition。eToro customers may be very familiar with social trading and follow other people's trading and investment ideas, so buying a discretionary ISA may have little effect。
