Avalanche launches Avalanche9000 upgrade on Testnet and launches a $40 million funding plan
Online reports that the team behind the layer 1 blockchain network Avalanche launched its major upgrade on the test network on Monday. The upgrade is called "Avalanche9000" and includes multiple technical improvements aimed at reducing blockchain deployment costs by 99.9%. These improvements include community proposals ACP-77 (to make Avalanche's Layer 1 validator more flexible) and ACP-125 (to reduce Avalanche's base costs by 96%). The press release stated that the upgrade was also launched at the same time as the Retro9000, a $40 million funding program to reward builders who develop layer 1 blockchain and other tools on the Avalanche9000 test network.
