TradingView has launched a new platform equipped with an options strategy builder, aimed at enhancing users' trading experience. This new tool, named TradingView Options, promises to change the way traders approach strategy modeling, offering greater flexibility.

Customization and Comparison

TradingView Options reportedly allows users to simulate options spreads. On this platform, traders can choose from a catalog of standard strategies categorized as bullish, bearish, or neutral. The tool updates risk configuration charts as users switch strategies, intuitively displaying potential outcomes.

Traders can directly adjust key parameters on charts, such as expiration dates, strike prices, and contract quantities. For users requiring strategies beyond standard ones, the tool offers flexibility to create custom strategies. By clicking the "Create" button, users can name and build their own strategies, which then appear on the left side of the chart for easy access and management.

The strategy builder allows extensive customization, enabling traders to add multiple positions to any custom strategy. Prices, strike prices, and expiration dates can be modified to align with specific trading objectives. Additionally, traders can compare multiple strategies on a single chart, particularly useful for analyzing performance differences by replicating strategies, adjusting their parameters, and plotting two versions side by side.

Contracts from Major Exchanges

In addition to strategy building, TradingView Options provides raw options quotes and volatility indicators through chains and volatility tabs. The charting platform mentions the importance of these data for understanding market dynamics and assessing potential risks, supporting options contracts from major exchanges including CME, NYMEX, COMEX, CBOT, NSE, and BSE, with plans for further expansion.

Furthermore, symbol search functionality allows users to switch underlying assets for options, integrating TradingView Options into the broader TradingView ecosystem, ensuring traders have all the necessary tools on a single platform, enhancing efficiency and usability.

Recently, TradingView partnered with the UK brokerage Spreadex to offer spread betting directly from its charting platform, expanding trading choices for users. This allows TradingView users logged into Spreadex accounts to access spread betting features directly from TradingView.

Spread betting enables traders to speculate on the price movements of financial instruments without owning the actual assets. Profits or losses depend on the accuracy of the bet and the magnitude of market fluctuations. In the UK, this form of trading is particularly advantageous as it is exempt from stamp duty and capital gains tax.
