Arm to lay off more than 70 engineers in China to restructure China's software business

According to reports, SoftBank Group's British chip design company Arm recently laid off more than 70 software engineers in China and moved some positions outside Asia.。One of the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that about 15 of the laid-off employees will be placed on projects related to China。Another person, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the cut positions were currently "topped" by contract software engineers who had worked on projects involving Arm's global operations.。In a statement, Arm said, "To ensure that the Chinese software ecosystem can maximize Arm's performance and capabilities, Arm is reorganizing its software engineering resources in China to focus on direct support for local developers.。"
