IcomTech founder jailed for nearly 10 years for involvement in cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme

Network reports, October 5 news, according to The Block reports, U.S. District Judge Jennifer L..Rochon sentenced IcomTech founder David Carmona to 121 months in prison on Friday。Carmona has previously admitted one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud。Carmona co-founded IcomTech in 2018 and claims to be a cryptocurrency mining and trading firm.。Prosecutors said the company promised that investors would make a profit if they bought certain "so-called cryptocurrency-related investment products."。But that didn't happen。Instead, prosecutors said, IcomTech did not participate in mining or trading for its investors, but used the money to pay other investors and use it itself.。
