House Financial Services Committee passes anti-CBDC bill "

Internet reported that the U.S. House Financial Services Committee passed the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act (H.R.) on Wednesday with 27 votes in favor and 22 votes against. 1919)。The bill, introduced by Republican House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, aims to prevent central bank digital currency from being used for monetary policy and to prohibit the Federal Reserve from providing financial services directly to individuals. Emmer said the bill ensures that U.S. digital currency policy is in the hands of the American people rather than the executive branch. The move echoes an executive order signed by President Trump in January to protect U.S. citizens from CBDC threats. At the same time, the committee has also advanced legislation on regulatory stablecoins and established a framework for dollar-pegged stablecoins to enhance their global competitiveness.
