According to online reports, the Russian Ministry of Energy announced today that it plans to establish a single registration authority for cryptocurrency mining equipment and force the registration of all cryptocurrency mining businesses. TASS reported that if the plan is implemented, cryptocurrency mining without equipment registered in the system will be "impossible." The plan, led by Deputy Energy Minister Yevgeny Grabchak, is part of a proposed amendment to existing mining regulations that aims to better identify domestic mining activities, especially those held in areas where mining is not allowed.
