On April 4, according to Xinhua Agency, Moon Jiongpei, acting president of the South Korean Constitutional Court, read out the impeachment ruling. Eight judges of the Constitutional Court unanimously agreed to remove Yin Xiyue. Yoon Seok Yoon became the second president to be dismissed after Park Geun-hye in South Korea's constitutional history. South Korea must then hold a new general election within 60 days. Yin Xiyue did not attend the verdict. The sentencing process was broadcast live on television to the public.
