Musk exposed that switching to Lilly diet drugs: the effect is better than Novo Nordisk competitors, with fewer side effects
Musk revealed on social media platform X on Wednesday that he was using Lilly's Mounjaro to lose weight. Musk posted a photo on X of him dressed as Santa Claus, showing him standing next to a Christmas tree with the caption "Ozempic Santa". He later confirmed in multiple posts that he was indeed using drugs similar to Ozempic to lose weight. "Strictly speaking, I use Mounjaro, but the name doesn't sound that interesting," he explained. Ozempic is a diabetes drug owned by Novo Nordisk, and Wegovy is the company's weight-loss drug product. The two have the same active ingredient, namely semiglutide (Semaglutide). Mounjaro is a diabetes drug launched by Lilly. Its active ingredient is the same as the company's weight loss drug Zepbound, namely Tirzepatide. Musk revealed that he initially tried using Ozempic to lose weight because high doses of the drug caused him to "fart and burp like Barney in The Simpsons." "Mounjaro seems to have fewer side effects and better effects," he added.
