Ethereum Pectra upgrade was launched on the Holesky test network, but failed to complete final confirmation
On February 25, according to CoinDesk, Ethereum's latest upgrade, Pectra, was activated on the Holesky test network on the evening of February 24, but failed to complete the final confirmation as expected. The upgrade includes 11 important improvement proposals (EIPs), of which the core proposal EIP-7702 aims to improve the user experience of crypto wallets, and EIP-7251 increases the maximum verifier pledge limit from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH. Ethereum developers are currently investigating the reasons for the failure to complete the final confirmation through the Eth R&D Discord channel. The next round of testing was originally scheduled to take place on March 5 at the Sepolia Testnet, but Christine Kim, vice president of Galaxy research, said the development team may delay testing based on the severity of the problem. It is worth noting that this is not the first time similar problems have occurred in the Ethereum test network. In January 2024, the final confirmation of the Dencun upgrade was also not completed on the Goerli test website. The development team will determine the specific date for the upgrade of the main network after the testing of the two test networks is completed.
