Amazon will release a long-delayed revision of Alexa's generative artificial intelligence "
According to online reports, three people familiar with the matter revealed that Amazon (AMZN.O) is about to release its long-awaited Alexa artificial intelligence voice service and has scheduled a press conference later this month to preview it. Amazon sent invitations to media on Wednesday to attend an event in New York on February 26, when Panos Panay, head of Amazon's devices and services team, will attend. For Amazon, which has more than 500 million Alexa-enabled devices on the market, new AI-generated Alexa is both a huge opportunity and a huge risk. Amazon hopes the revision, which is designed to talk to users, will turn some of its hundreds of millions of users into paying users, thereby paying off for the unprofitable business. Amazon originally planned to launch the new Alexa service to a small number of users without charging, although it considered charging a monthly fee of $5 to $10.
