South Korean court sentences three cryptocurrency fraudsters to prison, involving US$416,000

Online reports, according to Cryptopolitan, the Busan District Court in South Korea sentenced three cryptocurrency investment fraudsters to prison for violating the "Aggravated Punishment Act for Certain Economic Crimes." The main offender was sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison, and the two accomplices were sentenced to 3 and a half years and 2 and a half years respectively. The three men conducted illegal cryptocurrency investment activities in a building in Busan in June 2019, claiming to have an algorithm that can trade from about 1000 high-quality cryptocurrencies around the world, and promising investors to get 30% monthly investment return. In fact, they did not have any trading algorithms, and the funds raised about 610 million won (about 416,000 US dollars) were used for personal consumption.
