Former FTX executive Ryan Salame may be released from prison a year early

Online reports, Businessinsider reported that former FTX executive Salame pleaded guilty in September last year to participate in a conspiracy to illegally make political donations and operate an unlicensed money transfer business. He was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison and began serving his sentence in October this year. According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records, Salame's release date is set for March 1, 2031, just over a year away from seven and a half years. A spokesman for the Bureau of Prisons said the agency did not comment on the conditions of imprisonment of any detainees, including release plans, but said under the 2018 First Step Act, detainees could get time to reduce their sentences if they behaved well.
