On October 25, 11 power generation companies in Guangdong Province jointly sent a letter to the Guangdong Province Energy Bureau and the Southern Supervision Bureau of the National Energy Administration requesting "further improvement of medium-and long-term market mechanisms." The letter mentioned that the market price (medium and long-term trading of electricity in Guangdong Province) has been completely lower than the cost of (thermal power) power generation, and the current market mechanism is difficult to support the recovery of power generation costs.
