Encryption platform Debiex ordered to pay $2.5 million in US CFTC "pig killing tray" case

Online reports, Cointelegraph reported that cryptocurrency platform Debiex was ordered to pay approximately US$2.5 million for failing to respond to a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) accusing it of being a "pig-killing plate" fraud gang. On March 13, Arizona Federal Court Judge Douglas Rayes granted an earlier motion for summary judgment by the CFTC and ordered Debiex to refund approximately $2.26 million it had stolen from customers while paying nearly $221,500 in civil fines. The judge said there was no evidence that Debiex did not respond to the CFTC out of "excusable negligence."
