Rothschild Wealth Management executives: The Federal Reserve is expected to cut interest rates as early as June

According to online reports, Bastian Freitag, head of German fixed income at Rothschild Wealth Management, said that the Federal Reserve is expected to stay put this week, and the earliest window for the next interest rate cut is in June. Freitag said in a report that inflation continues to stagnate above the Fed's 2% target and this sideways trend is likely to continue. Punitive tariffs that the U.S. government has imposed and those that will still impose may continue to raise prices. "At the same time, we have observed a rise in survey-based inflation expectations, which leaves less room for the Fed to cut interest rates prematurely," Freitag said. He expects the Fed to cut interest rates in June, September and the first quarter of 2026. (Jin Shi)
