Blockchain-related terms in SEC documents hit record highs in February
Internet reports that terms involving blockchain in U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) documents reached an all-time high in February, and the EDGAR database recorded more than 5000 related mentions, showing a continuous upward trend since mid-2023. This growth is consistent with a significant shift in the SEC's attitude towards regulation of the crypto industry. Since the January presidential change and acting chairman Mark Uyeda took office, the SEC has terminated multiple investigations into companies such as Uniswap, Coinbase, Yuga Labs, Kraken and Gemini, marking a different adjustment from the "law enforcement supervision" strategy of former chairman Gary Gensler. In addition, the Crypto Task Force established by Uyeda in late January, led by pro-crypto industry commissioner Hester Peirce, plans to hold its first round table this month to explore more collaborative regulatory models.
