Grayscale and Osprey settle Bitcoin ETF lawsuit
Internet reports that digital asset management company Grayscale and Osprey have settled a legal dispute surrounding the marketing practices of Bitcoin Trust ETFs. Court documents show that both parties must complete the collation and execution of the settlement agreement documents within the next 45 days. The case originated from Osprey's lawsuit against Grayscale in early 2023 for "misleading publicity" in promoting the conversion of GBTC to ETF. Grayscale was subsequently approved by the SEC to convert to ETF in 2024. The court had previously ruled in favor of Grayscale in February 2025, holding that the Connecticut Unfair Business Conduct Act cited by Osprey did not apply to securities cases. Details of the settlement have not yet been made public, and there has been no formal response from both sides.
