Russia may allow seized BTC to be converted into national fiscal revenue "
The Russian Federation Executive Board (FSSP) head said that a new mechanism has been developed to support the conversion of bitcoins seized in criminal cases into national fiscal revenue, according to online reports. The mechanism stems from the precedent set in the bribery case of former investigator Marat Tambiyev, in which approximately 1,032 BTC items were successfully seized and transferred to the Ministry of Finance. Some assets are expected to be sold to replenish the treasury. The FSSP calls on the legislature to clarify the legal status of cryptographic assets as soon as possible to promote a more systematic process for the disposal of cryptographic assets.
