Gaming platform Wemix was hacked in February and lost $6.22 million. The CEO admitted that notification was slow but denied intentionally concealing it.
Online reports, according to Yonhap News Agency, Kim Suk Hwan, a representative of the Wemix Foundation, a blockchain subsidiary of Wemmade, admitted at an emergency meeting that approximately 8.65 million WEMIX tokens (worth approximately US$6.22 million) were lost due to hacking. Hackers attacked the Play Bridge Vault system on February 28 by stealing the authentication key of the NFT platform "Nile". Kim Suk-hwan explained that the delay in notice was due to fear of triggering more attacks and market panic, emphasizing that "there was absolutely no thought or attempt to cover up the incident."
