London Police and law firms have cooperated to launch a crypto asset recovery program, mainly targeting cases that cannot be criminally prosecuted."

Internet reports that the London Police have established a partnership with law firm Gowling WLG to launch a civil asset recovery program. The program mainly targets cases that cannot be criminally prosecuted and provides victims of cryptocurrency fraud with the opportunity to recover assets. Previously, British police successfully recovered 520,000 pounds (approximately US$671,000) worth of stolen cryptocurrency from an 80-year-old man in a pilot project. The recovery operation benefited from an update to the Proceeds of Crime Act of 2002, which gave police the power to freeze stolen digital assets. Gowling Director Bríd Holden expressed the hope that this cooperation will increase victims 'willingness to report cases. The cooperation plan will coordinate recovery efforts between police and victims and their legal representatives to combat organized criminal groups.
