Ernst & Young announced that it will upgrade its Layer2 blockchain Nightfall to a zero-knowledge proof architecture "
According to online reports, EY, the four major accounting firm, announced that it will upgrade its enterprise-level Layer2 blockchain Nightfall to a zero-knowledge proof (ZK-Rollup) architecture. The new version of "Nightfall_4" was released on April 2. The main improvements include: achieving near-instant transaction confirmation, simplifying the network architecture, and improving ease of use. Paul Brody, global head of blockchain at Ernst & Young, said that with the lifting of U.S. sanctions on currency mixer Tornado Cash, corporate customers 'acceptance of privacy technology has increased significantly. Nightfall adopts a permission-based design that requires users to complete identity verification to mechanically avoid anonymity abuse. Ernst & Young is currently developing a supporting tool, Starlight, to convert smart contract codes into versions that support zero-knowledge certificates. The team plans to complete the deployment of Nightfall_4 first and then start developing the fifth-generation version.
