Wall Street Journal: Trump's plot to oust Powell's script emerges, and Fed successor emerges

Internet reports that the Wall Street Journal disclosed that people familiar with the matter said that Trump has been privately discussing the issue of firing Federal Reserve Chairman Powell for several months, but he has not yet made a final decision on whether to oust Powell before his term ends next year. At a meeting at Mar-a-Lago, Trump talked with former Federal Reserve governor Kevin Warsh about the possibility of firing Powell before the end of his term and selecting Warsh to replace him, the people said. According to people familiar with the matter, Walsh had advised against firing Powell and believed that the Federal Reserve chairman should be allowed to complete his term without interference.
