Pickups are popular in Thailand, and ICE pickups already control more than 40% of the Thai car market.。Geely hopes Riddara will convince some buyers to take the electric route and will emphasize the use of trucks as discharge systems for work and leisure.。

Riddara RD6 (see specs) is available in 2WD (Scion) and 4WD (Horizon) versions earlier this year。At the moment, we have no news about the plans for the Thai product, but the Riddara EnGlish website only shows the 2WD version。The pickup uses a multiple add-on platform (MAP), which is derived from Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, which is used by the Zeekr series and new electric Smart and Lotus cars。Therefore, the pickup truck is not a traditional non-load-bearing truck, but a hard-shell structure。In theory, this means that it is unlikely to have off-road capabilities like other Chinese electric pickup trucks such as BYD Shark and JAC T9。

The battery capacity is currently 63, 73 and 86 kWh, but the platform itself can reportedly support up to 140 kWh。The 2WD version is equipped with a 200 kW electric motor on the rear axle, and the 4WD version uses an additional 115 kW electric motor on the rear axle and the front axle。The range varies depending on the battery pack and whether the truck is two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, but it is between 415 and 560 kilometers。

Horizon (4WD) has a towing capacity of 3,000 kg and a payload of 865 kg。With dual motor setup, acceleration time is only 4.5 seconds。The wading depth is 815 mm, the no-load climbing degree can reach 95%, and the full-load climbing degree can reach 65%。The super external discharge function of the Horizon version can provide a maximum of 21 kW, allowing the pickup to serve as a more efficient work tool to provide on-site power。

Pickup sizes are 5260, 1900 and 1865 mm (length / width / height), and the wheelbase is 3120 mm。Pickup bed sizes are 1525, 1450 and 540 mm。

Riddara RD6 prices range from 151,800 yuan ($20,870) to 221,800 yuan ($30,500) in China。Thailand may serve as an initial market, after which we expect sales in other Southeast Asian markets and Australia。

Editor's note:

We're really not quite sure what to do from the Riddara site。Given that 4WD is already on the market, it seems strange that Geely only launches the 2WD version overseas, especially since its performance is significantly lower。The towing capacity is reduced to 2500 kg and the payload is 775 kg。In addition, it only provides 6 kW of discharge power。Even more bizarre, the range on the website is lower than the figures on our database and on the Chinese Internet, although according to the Riddara website, the range uses CLTC。

Auto News China also found that Geely registered the "Riddara" trademark internationally more than a year ago.。
