Law firm warns Metaplex to change its handling of unclaimed SOL

On April 22, Cointelegraph reported that law firm Burwick Law issued an open letter to Solana NFT platform Metaplex, warning that its plan to transfer unclaimed SOL tokens to the DAO vault could lead to litigation. Currently, more than 54,000 SOLs (worth approximately US$6.5 million) have not been claimed. Burwick recommended Metaplex suspend the program, refund 90% of the funds to NFT holders, and retain only 10% for network maintenance costs. Metaplex originally planned to automatically transfer excess SOL from NFT accounts that had not been "adjusted and optimized" to its DAO after the April 25 deadline. As of now, Metaplex has not responded to this warning.
