Binance: Recently received user reports of fake text message fraud, and the official will never contact users by phone

The Internet reported that according to an official announcement, Binance said it had received user reports of recent fake text message scams and found that users in Bahrain were particularly easy to be targeted. Binance Reminders will never contact users by phone and does not operate any call center. SMS messages are only used to send OTP codes and do not include call center numbers. The only reliable source is the official website and application. Previously, it was reported that there were also many cases of counterfeit currency and text message fraud in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission responded that according to the Securities and Futures Ordinance and the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Ordinance, it is a crime to operate unlicensed business in Hong Kong and the business of providing virtual asset services and/or actively promote such services to Hong Kong investors in Hong Kong or from outside Hong Kong. As always, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission will not hesitate to take appropriate action against any violations, but will not comment on individual incidents and remind investors to only buy and sell virtual assets on virtual asset trading platforms licensed by the SFC.
