Trump: Will impose additional tariffs on chips, oil, natural gas, steel and other commodities "
Online reports, according to foreign media reports, U.S. President Trump said on Friday that the United States will impose tariffs on imported goods such as computer chips, medicines, steel, aluminum, copper, oil and natural gas as soon as mid-February. Trump added that he also wanted to impose tariffs on the EU, but did not specify the timing and rate of the tariff increase. The tariffs announced on these industries and the EU appear to be separate from the 25% tariffs imposed on Canada and Mexico. Trump's proposed tariffs will be imposed on top of existing tariffs on these products. White House Press Secretary Levitt previously confirmed at a press conference that the Trump administration will impose a 25% tariff on Mexican and Canadian goods starting on February 1.
