Internet reports that on February 7, National Public Radio (NPR) reported that MarkoElez, an employee of Musk's Government Efficiency Department (DOGE), resigned due to the exposure of his past racist social media remarks. The 25-year-old former X and SpaceX employee previously worked at the U.S. Treasury Department in charge of cost-cutting and fraud-fighting efforts and was one of two DOGE temporary appointees who received access to the Treasury Department's highly sensitive payment systems. A White House official who was not authorized to speak publicly has confirmed the resignation.
