Slovenia's Ministry of Finance proposes a proposal to tax personal income in cryptocurrencies
The Internet reported that the Ministry of Finance of Slovenia is soliciting opinions and proposing a 25% tax on profits made by individuals from the disposal of crypto assets. The proposal, released Thursday, aims to close loopholes in the country's tax system, which taxes business income from trading in crypto assets but exempts natural persons from buying and selling crypto assets as investments. The deadline for soliciting opinions on the proposal is May 5. If approved by Parliament, it is expected to take effect on January 1, 2026.
