Brazil's largest bank Itau Unibanco plans to launch stablecoin "
Internet reports that Itau Unibanco, Brazil's largest bank, plans to launch its own stablecoin. Guto Antunes, head of digital assets at the bank, which has more than 55 million customers, said that market interest in stablecoins has grown significantly as the U.S. government shifts its stance on cryptocurrencies. Antunes emphasized the advantages of blockchain technology in atomic transactions and hinted at the possibility of launching a stablecoin pegged to the Brazilian real. Currently, Itau is studying the relevant experiences of other banks and waiting for the introduction of Brazil's stablecoin regulatory framework. When it comes to regulation, Antunes recommends taking a balanced approach, such as developing a list of approved wallets to strengthen supervision. This move shows the growing acceptance of the application of blockchain technology by traditional financial institutions.
