Trump promotes civil service reform to bring more federal civil servants under the jurisdiction of the president

U.S. President Trump said on Friday that he was pushing for a large-scale reform of the civil service, issuing new rules to convert thousands of positions previously reserved by career federal employees into political positions, Internet reported. The changes further strengthen an executive order Trump signed on his first day in office that claimed he had broad powers to hire and fire senior civil servants. Trump said on his social media: "In the future, career government employees engaged in policy matters will be classified as 'policy/occupation' and will adhere to the highest standards of conduct and performance. If these government workers refuse to advance the president's policy interests or engage in corrupt practices, they should no longer have jobs." Trump said. "We must root out corruption and implement accountability in the federal workforce!" Trump aides said the measure was crucial to implementing a policy agenda they believe was undermined by career federal employees during the president's first term.
