Online reports that artificial intelligence startup Anthropic is finalizing a $3.5 billion round of financing that values the startup behind chat robot Claude at $61.5 billion. This shows that despite the disruptive influence of China's DeepSeek, investors are still eager to support promising artificial intelligence companies. Anthropic originally planned to raise $2 billion, but increased the amount during negotiations with investors, according to people familiar with the matter. Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, the startup was previously valued at $18 billion and is considered one of the few artificial intelligence startups with enough talent and money to compete with OpenAI.
