Crypto-friendly MP Bernie Moreno appointed to the Senate Banking Committee
Internet reports that Senator-elect Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio), who is friendly to cryptocurrencies, has been appointed to the Senate Banking Committee. The Senate Banking Committee, which could be the key to launching cryptocurrency-related bills in 2025, has jurisdiction over two key institutions: the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Other lawmakers who supported cryptocurrencies, including Sen. Cynthia Loomis (R-Wyo), were assigned to remain on the committee. The full Senate is expected to confirm the appointments early in the next Congress. According to the statement, Moreno was also appointed to the Senate Commerce Committee, Senate Budget Committee, and Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
