Volkswagen Group released a statement on the 2nd that the company is considering the first time to close one of its automobile manufacturing plants and one parts plant in Germany, and the plan, if implemented, will be the first time in the history of Volkswagen to close a plant in Germany.
The move triggered strong resistance from labor unions, Volkswagen executives will meet with labor unions on Wednesday, and some union executives said the talks will make the company's management “very uncomfortable”.
