Analysis: U.S. money supply growth accelerates, with M2 growth reaching its highest level in nearly 30 months in January

On March 16, according to analysis by The Kobeissi Letter, the growth of the U.S. money supply is accelerating: M2 money supply increased by 3.9% year-on-year in January, the fastest growth rate in 30 months. At the same time, this is the 11th consecutive month that the money supply has expanded. Dollar circulation has reached US$21.6 trillion, only US$16 billion lower than the all-time high set in April 2022. At the same time, global money supply has increased by approximately US$2.0 trillion in the past two months, reaching its highest level since September 2024.
