Minmetals Resources (MMG Ltd.) Its Peruvian mine Las Bambas has received approval from environmental regulator Senace. The mine, located at the junction of Challhauhaucho, Tambobamba and Coyllurqui in Cotabambas Province, will cost US$6.6 billion to upgrade. Of this, US$1.753 billion will be used for the construction phase, and another US$4.893 billion will be put into the operation phase. This will allow the mine to operate for six years, to 2039.
